The Catholic Media Council (CAMECO), in cooperation with TULIP and supported by BEGECA, will conduct the Digital Media Education and Policy Development Training from Monday, November 25th to Friday, 29th, 2024.
In a rapidly evolving digital world, education and policy development have become essential to ensuring online safety and promoting responsible media use for young
people.
For that reason, CAMECO, TULIP and BEGECA, have joined forces to deliver the Digital Media Education and Policy Development Training, a virtual event that equips educators, youth leaders and professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the digital space.
This training is ideal for educators, youth leaders, principals, teachers, and anyone passionate about safeguarding young people and students in the digital space. Whether you are involved in education, youth work, or policy development, this initiative will provide you with the necessary tools to make an impact.
During this 5-day training, participants will learn about and explore critical areas including:
o Digital Media & Christian Values: Learn about church documents and reflections on a human and community-centred use of digital media.
o Strategies for Digital Wellbeing: Promote healthy media habits among young people and in schools.
o Cybersecurity and Online Safety: Strengthen defences against cyber threats and fake news.
o Artificial Intelligence in Education: Understand the role of AI in shaping digital education.
o Youth Empowerment: Learn how to equip young people with critical thinking skills to safely navigate the online world.
o Media Policy and Curriculum Building: Learn how to develop media policies and design a curriculum tailored to your institution's needs.
o Fundraising: Find out about funding opportunities for media education projects in schools and youth centres.
